Off to Ireland for the Euro Surf.

Tomorrow I’m flying to Ireland with the Belgian surfing team to compete in the European championships. We have a strong Open Men team with Lars Musschoot, James Woods, Matt Marcantuoni and myself. so hopefully we can get a good result.

The contest is held at The Peak in Bundoran a perfect pointbrake and the swell seems to be ok.

Back In Belgium!

I’m currently staying in Belgium for about a week. Tomorrow we have the Domburg Classic running so let’s hope there’s gonna be some waves.
There have been a few waves the last couple of days and me and my brother took the opportunity to get some footage in Belgium. Check out some of the images Thanks to Maxime Desmet.

O’Neill Face To Face – Labenne

I’m currently at Labenne for the O’Neill Face to Face invitational. We had some very nice waves the 1st day of the contest already.

Although I got 2nd in both of my first heats. I was feeling comfortable surfing on my backhand (which sometimes could be a trouble maker). I waited with priority for the bigger sets, they offered not as many turns as the smaller inside ones but allowed some more aggressive surfing and even some barrel options. The judges did not seem to like it though and where scoring the smaller inside ones better.

Hopefully tomorrow will be good again as the swell is still picking up… I love the way the contest format works and can’t wait to surf some more man to man heats!
